During your first visit we perform an oral examination and provide our opinion as to whether orthodontic treatment is indicated. If so, diagnostic records (models, X-rays, and photographs) may be taken or another appointment may be scheduled, if more convenient. Records are necessary to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan, but we can provide an approximate treatment plan and fee at this appointment if you wish.

If treatment is not indicated at this time, we will monitor growth and eruption of your child’s teeth at 6-12 month intervals. These visits are important so treatment can start at the most beneficial time, depending on the orthodontic problem. At Lamparski Orthodontics, there is never a charge for these visits.

Approximately 2 weeks after your records appointment, we will sit down with you and discuss your diagnosis and comprehensive treatment plan. We will clearly explain details of our diagnosis, treatment, and financial arrangements – thus both parents should attend, if possible. Children under age 16 will receive detailed information step-by-step as treatment progresses, so they do not need to attend this appointment.
